Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected or processed in the Sondex mobile application (hereinafter — the "Application"), available on iPhone. By using the Application, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. What is Sondex

Sondex is a professional noise level meter for iPhone. The Application measures ambient sound in real time, records noise sessions, generates acoustic analysis reports, sends noise threshold alerts, and displays the impact of noise on human health — based on WHO and NIOSH standards.

3. Data Collection

3.1 Data Required for Functionality

The Application may request access to:

  • Microphone — to capture and analyze ambient sound. The microphone is used exclusively for real-time noise measurement and session recording. Audio data is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
  • Location — used to tag recorded sessions with a geographic location for noise alert filtering and session metadata. Location data is stored only on your device.
  • Notifications — to alert you when the ambient noise level exceeds your configured threshold. Alerts are generated locally and do not pass through external servers.

All permissions are requested via the system dialog and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

3.2 User-Provided Information

You may voluntarily provide:

  • Recording session names and notes
  • Custom noise threshold values
  • Messages sent to our support team

3.3 Automatically Collected Information

The Application may automatically collect limited technical information:

  • Device type and model
  • Operating system version
  • Application usage statistics
  • Crash reports and error data

This information is used exclusively to maintain and improve the Application.

4. Local Data Storage

All application data is stored locally on your device using CoreData:

  • Noise session recordings and their metadata
  • Location data associated with sessions
  • Noise alert settings and thresholds
  • User preferences and measurement profiles
  • Generated PDF reports

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. Use of Analytics Services

We use Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service, to:

  • Analyze feature usage within the Application
  • Improve the user experience
  • Diagnose errors and crashes
  • Improve stability and performance

6. Use of Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Application's features
  • Support users and respond to inquiries
  • Improve the quality and performance of the Application

We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties. Transfer is possible only to:

  • Service providers necessary for the Application's operation (e.g., analytics services)

8. Location Information

The Application uses location data only to tag noise session recordings. Location is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers. We may approximately determine the user's region based on IP address or device region settings solely for improving the Application's performance.

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Since all session data is stored locally on your device and we do not store it on our servers, the risk of unauthorized access to your content is significantly reduced.

10. Children

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us.

11. User Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Other Laws)

Depending on the legislation of your country, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Correct your data
  • Delete your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive a portable copy of your data

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the Application. To exercise other rights, please contact us at the address below.

12. Subscriptions and Payments

The Application offers premium features via subscription (Standard and Pro plans).

Payment Processing: All payments are processed by Apple via the App Store. We:

  • Do not have access to your payment card data
  • Do not store any payment information
  • Receive only anonymized confirmation of a completed purchase

Payment processing is carried out in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Managing Your Subscription: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the Application does not cancel an active subscription.

13. Changes to the Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will be published within the Application. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

By using the Application, you confirm your agreement to this Privacy Policy.
